Static IP requests

Static IP request will be a $10.00 monthly re-occurring charge on bill. Please note that it will be up to 48 hrs waiting period.

What is Static IP

A static IP address is an IP Address associated with your account that never changes and can be assigned to a specific device. Static IP addresses matter more when external devices or websites need to remember your IP address.

Your business may need a static IP address – a unique IP address that always remains the same – if you will be performing certain activities, such as supporting remote users, hosting a website or email server, or running a firewall.

A static IP address ensures that your business can always be located on the web and your remote employees or business partners are able to access your company’s network.

When do you need Static IP
  • When hosting a web, mail or FTP server
  • Hosting a webcam for video streaming
  • Using video conference applications
  • When you want to access a corporate network remotely

Texas Broadband does not open or close ports. Any port forwarding will need to be done on customer’s end. They will need to set their routers to “obtain”. The router will automatically obtain the static IP assigned to them, along with the
subnet mask and gateway.

If you are unable to access the internet, or if you are experiencing slow connection speeds, the first troubleshooting step is to “reboot” your radio. Although we commonly refer to these pictures as your “radio”, these are pictures of the four most common Injectors that supply power to your radio. To reboot your radio, remove the power cord from the “radio” for five seconds then plug it back in. It will take 15 to 20 seconds for your radio to finish rebooting.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have a router, you will need to reboot both your radio and your router. First, remove the power from your radio and leave it unplugged. Remove the power from your router and leave it unplugged. Plug the power to your radio back in and wait 20 seconds. Finally plug the power to your router back in and wait 20 seconds.
